Does Solid Rock Surfaces use a 100% dust-free sanding process?

At Solid Rock Surfaces, we use a 90% dust free method. We will tape plastic sheeting over sensitive areas. Our edgers and buffers are connected to large vacuums and our main belt sanders have vacuum bags attached to them at all times. Honestly, it may very well be cleaner after we come through than before!

What should I use to clean my hardwood floors?

Solid Rock Surfaces recommends Bona products. Buy their products at Home Depot or Lowes. Skip wood cleaners like Pledge or oil soap as they leave a film on your floor over time which will lead to refinishing in a few years.

Find more information on how to clean your hardwood floors using Bona products on their website: http://www.bona.com/Consumer1/howtodiy/Cleaner/ our Maintenance Instructions for All Surfaces page found HERE.

When should I schedule to have my floors installed or refinished?

Hardwood flooring should be one of the last things done in new construction or remodeling. This ensures that they do not get damaged during the other construction. By the time we’re done refinishing, they will look GLEAMING. Why have your other contractors trample all over them and get them dirty?

How far in advance do I need to schedule a job?

Depending on the time of the year, we can easily be two to three, even four weeks out. However, once we have you scheduled, we’ll be there when we say we’ll be there – rain or shine. We work in any weather. Typical sanding jobs can be completed in three to four days. With the way we schedule sanding and coating, we run a very tight ship, so if you have to reschedule or move your appointment, you’ll be moved to the end of the line and have to wait… another two to four weeks.
